Movement Focus and/or Areas of Specialty
I relate well with clients who struggle with chronic pain (physical or emotional). Our bodies often express the stories we tell ourselves and it can be quite liberating to change our inner dialogue and change our experience of pain. I see Pilates and movement as an access point for this shift. My goal is to help clients understand the relationship between their own mind and body so they can create and experience more flow and ease in life.
What do you love about teaching and experiencing Mindful Movement?
It is an honor to witness a client when they have an “aha” moment. It is a very satisfying feeling when a client connects the way they move to how they experience the world on an emotional level. The two are typically intertwined, but go unrecognized until conscious focus is placed on both.
Where is the most interesting place you’ve been?
A couple places come to mind. First is walking on the very first olympic field in Olympia, Greece. It was truly a thrill. Secondly, the sandstone canyons in Antelope Canyon, Arizona. Tryly extraordinary. The spirals within the sandstone remind me of how my own body is intricately connected with its own fascial swirls. The canyons twirl in a beautiful expression of natural art.
