The Brave New World Of Virtual Classes
In 2020, necessity taught us that there’s a lot more we can accomplish virtually than we previously thought! Virtual movement classes allow you to enjoy your workout safely at home while saving the time and effort of going to a studio.
We have a specially-designed class, The Fundamentals and Props Class, to get you started if you’re new to virtual classes or Pilates. Fundamentals are the foundation of all good movement training, and it’s important to master the basic principles in order to accelerate your progress.
Why Are Center For Movement Virtual Classes Better?
In most virtual exercise classes, your focus is placed on the instructor, watching their movement while attempting to interpret their experience in your body. Even though many virtual classes are live, the feeling you’re left with is similar to doing an exercise video with little or no personal instruction.
Virtual classes at PM Center for Movement are not like that. We believe it’s our role to guide your exploration of movement, leading you to have your own, unique experience.
In our Zoom classes, you’re the center of attention. Your instructor will keep an eye on you to make sure you’re following along with the class, and will cue you to make specific adjustments or modifications if needed. This approach allows you to concentrate on your own movement, giving you better awareness so you can make faster progress, get results more quickly, and feel more confident in all your activities.
What You Will Need For Virtual Classes
- A laptop, smartphone or tablet with sound and video capabilities,
- a mat if you choose to use one,
- a variety of props (see below) and,
- a space to move so you can be seen by your instructor.
Where To Purchase Props
